Floating Kit Docks are an affordable way to add a dock to your pond or lake house. You choose the size and build it yourself. Our Kit Docks come complete with everything you need to make your dream a reality.

Our “Kit Docks” are manufactured using a proven engineered box truss design. We utilize ¼” thick angle, almost twice the thickness of standard 3/16” angle. This ensures your Kit Dock will be the strongest on the lake.

Features of the floating Kit Docks include:

Frame:

  • 12″ deep “box truss” frame – galvanized, proven strong with low maintenance.
  • Unique design – creates 100% load transfer.
  • Main structural frame members shall be 2″ x 2″ x 1/4″ angle.
  • Intermediate divisions shall be 5″ x 1.5″ x 3/16″ angle.
  • Truss web shall be 1″ x 1″ x 1/8″ angle.
  • Bolted connection in horizontal plane – added strength for vertical movement.

Flotation:

  • Rotationally molded polyethylene shell – meets ACOE requirements.
  • Shell thickness ~0.150″ thick.
  • Expanded polystyrene core molded inside the shell.
  • Firmly bolted to the frame – no clips or tabs.
  • Floatation designed to accommodate a 24″ freeboard +/- 1″

Decking/ Banding boards:

Concrete decking

  • 5” thick dry cast concrete deck pans.
  • Single row 2″ x 6″ Pressure Treated Southern Yellow Pine banding boards.

Composite decking

  • Decking boards tailored for durability and appeal.

Wood decking

  • 2” x 6” pressure treated southern yellow pine.

Superstructure:

  • 2 “Mega-Rib” Industrial Strength 26-gauge roof panels.
  • 2 ½” square columns, 11-gauge.
  • 8″ x 2.5″ 16-gauge Z purlins
  • Roofing sheet overhang at end of slips to be 12″.
  • Roof slope to be 1.5′:12′

Anchorage:

  • Heavy wall galvanized pipe anchors.
  • 25’ depth range.
  • 2-piece telescoping pipe design.
  • Other anchorage options available upon request.

Underwater Truss system:

  • Triangle truss spanning the length of the dock on both sides.
  • 5″ x 1.5″ x 3/16″ angle on truss cords.
  • 2″ x 2″ x ¼” angle underwater columns.
  • 3/8″ round rod for truss interior bracing.
  • 5′ clearance.

Bumpers/Fendering & Mooring:

  • 3′ column bumpers on insides of covered slips.
  • Black Single Lip Vinyl on Finger ends and head piers.

Hardware:

  • Frame & Underwater Truss connections:  5″ x ½” grade 5 hex head bolts, galvanized.
  • Column to frame connections:  5″ x ½” grade 5 hex head bolts, galvanized.
  • Column to Purlin Connections:  3.5″ x 3/8″ grade 5 hex head bolts, galvanized.
  • Float to frame connections:  3″ x 3/8″ grade 5 hex head bolts, galvanized.
  • Lumber to frame connections:  2.25″ x 5/16″ Torx HD self-tapping screws.
  • Roofing tin to purlin connection:  1″ x #14 self-drilling Tek screw.
  • All connections to use appropriately sized split lock washers and hex nuts,  galvanized (Not applicable to Torx & Tek screws).
  • Any connections below the water line to use double hex nuts instead of split lock washer and nut combo.
